SSM Health Dermatology is looking for a Practice Manager to join our growing team!

Objective:

Under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Operations, the Practice Manager is accountable for the daily operations of the clinic and related sites and provides day-to-day oversight of clinic management activities to maintain a friendly, professional, patient-oriented environment in conjunction with organizational policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. 

Qualifications:

  • Three years’ experience, with two years in leadership.
  • Experience in Medical Office Operations management with multi-site clinics.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and other medical insurance regulations and terminology for private payer, state and federal plans including coding, billing and reimbursement protocols.
  • Familiar and comfortable with newer technological equipment, including healthcare technology.
  • Ability to be discreet when dealing with important and sometimes sensitive issues.
  • Excellent writing and in-person communication skills.
  • Ability to formulate, initiate, institute, and supervise sound human resource, business and operational practices.
  • Ability to identify a problem and successfully formulate and implement a solution.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Superior organization skills, and attention to detail.
  • Process-oriented in order to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Team player; will do what it takes to get the job done and work together as a cohesive leader and team member. 

Essential Functions and Duties:      

  • Ensure clinics are opened and closed daily, as per established schedules.
  • Interview, hire and train new staff in accordance with HR guidelines.
  • Ensure staff is in place to support providers’ work schedules.
  • Monitor and approve time cards and track licensure requirements for staff.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and annual performance evaluations.
  • Supports financial, budget and business goals.
  • Knowledge of and ability to manage the billing and collection functions.
  • Oversees daily operations of practice including but not limited to clinical services, call center, schedule management, staff duty schedule and responsibility, billing and collections, site policies, staff development, and patient flow.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management.
  • Manages drug rep relationships, internal visit schedules and compliance, site security, and educational opportunities in compliance with SSM Health.
  • Monitor and manage clinic and office equipment through acquisitions and maintenance in conjunction with ownership entities, SSM maintenance schedules, and SSM Health Biomed services.
  • Monitors regulatory compliance, contracts and vendor relations. Assesses quality of and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other providers. 
  • Manage, communicate and roll out annual SSM coding changes, billing policy changes, SSM and Payer Audits.
  • Develop and maintain EHR system expertise in all clinical processes as well as administrative oversight for report writing, monitoring, and supervision of processes.
  • Manage Provider expense report and CME tracking.
  • Manage all supply acquisitions in compliance with budget availability.
  • Manage and oversee annual OSHA training and daily compliance.
  • Monthly reporting on improvement planning and implementation of practice metrics not inclusive of VBIP, Press Ganey, MyChart, Medical Records, Billing Statistics, closed encounters, call center metrics, and referral management.
  • Monitor and comply with annual provider licensing, malpractice, staff privileges, and reporting required by SSM and outside entities.
  • Travel to satellite clinics as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
